Raynard Packard, Director & Founder.
Our founder is an original "Dogtown" skateboarder, U.S. Army paratrooper, and has over a hundred marathons and ironman triathlons under his belt. Having done his Master's studies in counseling at Ashland Theological Seminary and the University of Akron, and his Doctoral studies in clinical psychology at California Southern University, he has been in the trenches since 1992. Raynard has two daughters, Sonja and Magdalena, and is a person in long-term recovery. Read more.

Our resident Bengal (hybrid Asian Leopard) cats have been provided from the beginning by local Bengal specialist, Tari Kotewicz of kotykatz.com. The Bengals are the stars of our Recovery Residences.
PI, THE PACKARD INSTITUTE MASCOT AND "PI-YAKER"
Our dog "pi" is a rescue from Amish country, and is our official mascot. He's been the perfect scout along our many epic group hikes - including the Appalachian Trail. pi is an avid kayaker, having kayaked dozens of rivers with The Misfits, including whitewater, throughout the eastern United States.
